After publishing a ground-breaking paper exploring an approach to football modelling to consider the efficiency of the betting market, Mark launched ATASS Sports, thus establishing the foundations of the ATASS Group. A kite-surfing enthusiast, Mark is a family man whose interests span inspirational education techniques, biodiversity and renewable energy generation.
The ATASS Group invests in projects that reflect these passions and provide innovative solutions to these and other global challenges.
The first expansion from the core business of ATASS Sports took the group into venture capital financing, a move that was followed by further diversification into the leisure industry and subsequently into renewable energy.
In 2009, members of staff joined together to form the ATASS Foundation, a grant-making charitable trust, supported by staff donations and their own fund-raising efforts, in which Trustees meet three times a year to consider ways of meeting the needs of nominated projects.
Recent developments include the launch of ATASS Respect, an innovative 'beyond profit' enterprise.

As contenders in the Exeter Business Games, ATASS Sports have held the title twice in recent years and hope to win the trophy once again with the addition of some fresh talent in the team.
As a group we have named Devon Air Ambulance Trust as our charity of the year and have undertaken a three-way sponsorship programme with Exeter City Football Club as part of our commitment to both projects.
Our preferred suppliers include a number of prestigious local firms with whom we have built strong working relationships and enjoy considerable shared values.
